Quite the mess...

Well, it is EARLY morning, (Well about 5am now)and Page and I have been up since about 3:45. One would think that our young son had awakened us, however this time it was a car wreck outside. Since we have our beautiful truck out on the side road, we wanted to be sure our precious investment was safe. We went out to find that our property was fine. However, the neighbor's was not. Sadly (for real this time) a lady had hit 2 cars on the street. She had a rough day- told Page that her husband had served her divorce papers today- and may have been drinking while driving. She wanted to just walk home- only a block away. We ended up calling the police (later than we should) and had to give statements and such. She ended up being arrested. I really feel bad for the lady, and she will definitely be in our prayers. So, if you think of it, pray that whatever she is missing now, God can fill that spot & she will allow Him to begin a process in her.

Simple outing...

Today, Page and I felt like taking a walk- slowly since Page is still on the mend. It was nice outside, and the boys were both in a good mood & loved being in the outdoors, so we decided to make it a date. We walked to Walgreens and got some candy that was on sale. Then we went to Sonic, during happy hour and got drinks. Then we walked home. We realized that we need to get outside more- being in the house will dry out your joy. It was nice to have a chance to be outside, talk, and enjoy each other. The other great part is that we only spent $4.73 total. Pretty cheap date!! I think we will try to do this more often. :)

So much is happening...

It has been a busy month in our house. Especially in the last few weeks. Evan has started getting more adventurous with his walking. He will toddle from one piece of furniture to the next, and he loves to fall into your arms at the end of a few steps- it is really cute. He also loves walking everywhere he can holding my fingers. My back is shot, but he is having a great time.

Page if off work this week because he had a hernia repair surgery last Thursday. He is doing very well, and each day he is able to get around better and better. It is really hard for him not to have the ability to hold/pick up Evan. They are good buddies, so it had been tough not to do things how he is used to.

Zachary and Evan are now so into everything, that I finally moved a lot of the things I did not want them to touch. I was determined to teach them just not to touch them, but I gave it up. It was exhausting. When they better understand, those items will come back out, and we can start the process all over again. I am trying my best to keep my head above water at the moment, between 24/7 care for Evan (which I am blessed to have such a helpful husband- when he is physically able) and taking care of things around the house, I am pretty wiped out. Thankfully, it is getting better each day as well. Today, Evan and I went to the Frisco mall to get pictures with the Cat in the Hat, and attempted story time. Our friend Bree and her son Jamison were also there, and it was good. Both of the boys liked looking at the character, but neither was interested in the story. So, we went home. It was good to get out, and it was something different to do. We enjoyed it, even though Evan's face does not really show that.

I know there are more adventures to come...until then, have fun.

Our Little Man...

Well, Evan was the center of attention this evening at our small group meeting. He started by standing for quite a while, and when he had everyone's attention, he took 2 little steps!! We tried to get him to do a repeat performance, but he was not interested. It is crazy to think that is already getting ready to walk. I know we will have pictures soon, and maybe even a video to share. I will work on that.

Is chivalry dead? It is in my neighborhood...

So, here is the story...
Last Friday, Whitney needed to go to Frisco to run an errand. Since I only leave the house about twice a week, I volunteered to join her in the fun. We had to take my car (remember it is not even 2 weeks old to us)- since I had the carseats for Evan & Zachary. SO, we finally got loaded and ready to go- which is an undertaking with two 10 month olds. We are driving through our neighborhood, and I notice that the car is not driving as well as it did just last night, so I pull in at the next side street (still in the neighborhood). I get out to look around, and sure enough- we had a flat. My first reaction is to call Page, who can't do anything because he is working in downtown Dallas. He did put in a call to a couple of guys we know in the area that he thought may be able to help. In the meantime, I decide that I should not need Page's help- afterall, my Dad taught me how to change a tire when I was 16. So, I put on my 'Rosie the Riveter' face and get started. I have to say that I did a great job- not to brag, but I did have a moment of doubt. Thankfully, Whitney was there to keep the boys entertained- Zachary was screaming for the whole block to hear, and Evan was talking very loudly. So, here I am- working hard and getting dirty, changing my own flat. This is a re-enactment photo, but I think you get the idea- notice the strollers and baby things.

It was late morning, so I was not expecting anyone to really be out and about. But, I was wrong. A total of eight, yes 8, cars drove by. SIX of them were men. Did anyone stop, ask if we had it under control, offer to help????? NO!! I was shocked. Granted, I had things under control, and I am sure that I looked like I was perfectly capable, but that is beside the point! I was especially surprised since I had a slew of baby things strewn about the curb and road. Oh well! I have now made it my goal in life that second to a Godly son, I want to be sure and raise a gentleman. So, guys- be sure you at least stop and ask, and ladies, tell your guys to stop and ask. I would have loved help, but thanks to my great Dad, I had it all taken care of in no time, and we were back on our way. Good times!
