10 months!!

Yesterday Evan turned 10 months old. I cannot believe it. He is starting to let go and stand on his own- so it is a matter of time until he starts walking alone. He walks now with a push-style walker or holding on to our hands or legs. He is quite the independant one. In the last week, he decided that he did not want to eat baby food anymore, and only wants to feed himself.

We can still sneak a little baby food in, but he mainly wants to give himself fruit, toast, and cheese. Those are his favorites so far. He is very vocal, and is starting to mimic sounds that we make. I am pretty sure that he has chosen to call our cat Beast- BEE. That is what he says when he chases her around the house. He has also adopted a loud frustrated scream when he doesn't know how to get his message across. So we are working on signing, and words to get past that stage.

Page turned 29 on the 13th. So, he is old now. He has been working hard to catch up and do his best on his projects at work. He has had several discouraging weeks, but things are getting better now- even if just for a bit. I am still keeping Zach. He is such a cute boy. He and Evan love to play together, and have started wrestling with each other. I think they miss each other and get bored when they are apart. It is pretty funny. We are so blessed to have great friends and family that support us is each stage that we go through.

Some random happenings: Last week we purchased a 2004 Honda Pilot. It is great to have so much space, and I love that we can put more than 3 people in our car at once. It has been a blessing. Of course, when it rains, it pours: we decided on the new vehicle, and our dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal all went out- and now Page is going to have hernia surgery. So, we are believing in faith that God is going to give us the money to pay for all of the unexpected items. I am going to work Tres Dias in March, and I am really looking forward to serving there.

Here is Evan sitting in his new camping chair eating a snack.

Bath time is my favorite!!

Story time @ Pajamorama in Plano with Matthew, Jes, and Claire Green. The kids did not really pay attention to the story, but it was a fun outing.

Zach and Evan playing in a box. It has become their favorite hideout.

Morning playtime- you can tell how tired they are by their sleepy faces. :)

Well, I think that is our month in a nut-shell. Hopefully it will not take me a month to get back on here for another update. We wish you all blessings, and peace in your own adventures.

Praise God...

A quick note about how fantastic God is. Tonight I was getting Evan ready for bed, and he did not want to go to sleep (nothing new), so I was standing in his room holding him and singing random lullabies. I decided to sing 'Amazing Grace' and he actually relaxed a bit and looked at me. Then, since my brain is shot and I can't remember the words past the 1st verse, I did the same tune singing just 'Praise God' over and over. The sweetest thing happened. Evan just looked up at the fan and the ceiling and lifted up one of his little hands like he was reaching up to heaven. The whole time I sang, he kept switching hands, but kept them in the air. It was a beautiful moment in which God was definitely there with us. I just cried through my broken singing. Isn't God good?

Time is flying...

I cannot believe that it is already into January! Well, Evan is now 9 months old, and is walking along all of the furniture, walls, toys, etc. I am sure we will see him standing on his own and walking any day now. He is getting so big, and is starting to look like a little boy instead of a baby. He did not get his first tooth until about 3 weeks ago, but now they are coming in full force- he already has 3 in, and working on #4. Poor guy. During Christmas, we had about 2 full weeks of holiday fun. We were able to see most of our family by traveling to west Texas, and to California. It was great to see Page's family in California. I don't have pictures of most of that trip on my camera, so I will share pictures when I get them from someone else. We are back into the swing of 'normal' life- Page at work, and me at home with Evan and Zachary. Page is turning 29 next Tuesday (the 13th), so we are having a small party for him on Saturday- I think it will be fun. He is officially 'old' for 4 months until I join him, then we are both 'young'. I hope that you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year celebration. I really hope to keep up the blog better in the new year- we will see how that goes.

Evan and Page's Grandmother- Nena

Evan got to see pretty grass that is not brown and dead, he is an outdoors boy!!

We were able to go the beach a couple of times, even though it was pretty chilly...

Evan loved the beach, and would have played in the sand all day if we let him.
