Weekend in Grapeland

This past weekend we went to see my parents and siblings in Grapeland. We were able to spend 3 days there, so it was a really nice visit. Here are a few shots of the fam.

My Dad was reading this book to Evan and making surprised faces each time they turned the page- this was the result. Absolutely adorable.

Evan loved playing in the sprinklers. Dad took him outside to walk around, and when the water started, he jumped right in. He was soaked.

Evan loves his uncles. Here he is playing on the computer with my brother Casey.

And here he is reading with my cousin/brother Nathan. Evan wanted to read in the kitchen, and Nate was happy to oblige. :)

Some pics of the family after church. Somehow, we missed getting pictures of my Mom and Dad- they were busy starting lunch prep. Will add some of them later.

Casey, his wife of 5 weeks Amanda, and their dog Judge. He was scoping out the ducks in the neighbor's yard.

Nathan and his girlfriend Sammi.

Page and I. We don't really get pics of ourselves as a couple anymore.

Thought this was just too cute not to add. :)

Mother's Day

This year, we went to Lubbock to see my family for Mother's day weekend. It was great to see relatives and to get away from our daily life for a couple of days. Evan did great on the road trip. We only had to watch Elmo and Baby Einstein for about 4-5 hours of the whole trip. ;) Evan has learned to water the plants at Grandma Lisa's house. So when he found the water can at my grandparent's house, he knew just what to do.

I thought this was a cute shot of my Dad with Evan. They were just swinging and talking. So cute.
My family can get a little nutty. I missed the real action with my camera & will update the pic if I get a better one. My cousins thought of the idea to make sundaes on the tops of my Dad's and uncle's shiny bald heads. Needless to say, it all ran down their faces onto the table. Pretty fun though.
Here is our official Mom & Evan picture for Mother's day. He is such a cutie!

Fun days of May

I love this shot of Evan and I- don't you just love baby kisses.

Again, Evan likes bugs- here he is playing with a June bug. This was also the day that he started saying the word bug. Good times.

We had the blessing of childcare for a couple of hours and were able to go to dinner with Matthew & Jes. It was a good outing without kids.

On my birthday, today, Whitney took me to lunch and we walked around for a bit in the Watters Crossing center of Allen. The boys liked 'petting' the duck statues. They then took to sitting on them. It was pretty funny.

The month of April...

Since my brother's wedding, I have been a slacker and have only posted tidbits. So, here is our month in a nutshell. Thankfully it was after the wedding, but Monday after we got home, Evan fell and hit his face on the table. It gave him a slight black-eye. So sad.

I gave Evan some pasta for lunch and he was doing great- even staying pretty clean. I went to the kitchen to get a washcloth to clean up and this is what I found when I got back. So much for cleanliness. :)

I know that I have mentioned that Evan LOVES being outside. Here he is with Page- just playing in the dirt, and with a lady bug. He is so sweet.

Evan sleeps in some of the funniest positions. I thought this one to be quite uncomfortable, but who am I to judge?

You really think there is something to the saying, Like Father- Like son?

For Katie's B-day, we went to dinner in Plano, and then stopped by a shop where Lauren's friend works. In the shop, there was a perfect place for Evan to rest.

I went on a walk with the boys and it was a little windy. When we got back, Evan looked like Donald Trump, so I cut his hair that night. It looks much better. Here is a before and after.

MOCK..yeah..ING..yeah...BIRD..yeah..yeah..yeah

We are now to the stage in Evan's life where anything we do or say is fair game to be copied. I know that this stage will last for quite a while, but for the moment, it is really cute. Evan copies words- such as: bubbles, baby, please, ow, yuck, Dada, Mama, etc. He also copies our facial expressions and noises. The other night we were on our way home. I was pretty tired and let out a long sigh. A few seconds later, Evan let out his own dramatic version of the same thing. Then he proceeded to sigh all the way home, since we were laughing and he thought it was cute. It is pretty adorable. Also last week, Evan said his first 2 words that he actually used correctly & remembered and used later. They were cup and bug. I am pretty impressed by how much he is learning everyday. God is amazing.
