To California and back...

Wow, it has been a whirl-wind of a month, but we are finally recovering... good thing since it is now Sept! :) So, 4 days after we got home from the family reunion, we were on a plane headed to California to visit Page's family. It was a fantastic trip- so relaxing. Thanks to David and Tonya for allowing us to crash at their ranch house for the week. We are very appreciative! Here are a ton of pictures from our trip.

Here is Evan looking out the window at DFW- he loved watching the planes go in and out.
Evan and Daniel were instant friends, and Evan followed Daniel around- here is a moment when Evan was copying Daniel when he layed down to play a game. So cute.
Here is Grandma Lisa with Allison.

Here- Evan is moving lava rocks back and forth from the fire pit to a chair. Daniel was a good watcher.
Grandpa Russ and Evan hanging out at the ranch house. Notice the winter pj's Evan has on :) It was so cool while we were there.
We went to the beach one day. The water was freezing, and Evan was not a fan...
but he did like walking around on the sand.
Grandma Lisa and daughter Tonya in front of the Ventura pier.
Page's brother Erin & his fiance Shelli enjoying the fresh air.
This is the tree-house over at the ranch. It is in a huge avocado tree and is a great escape for the kids.
Page got to have some man-time driving a bull-dozer for David, who needed some dirt moved. He had a great time!
Evan loved hanging out with Uncle David. Getting dirty is one of their common interests.
Speaking of getting dirty- Evan loved playing in the dirt and with the sticks in the cleared area where Tonya & David's house will be one of these days. Right now it is the site of a wonderful garden.

A squash- from the garden- it got a little big, but Evan liked playing with it.
He also found Grandma Lisa's shower cap in her suitcase- such a great hat!
The pool was pretty cool, so there was only one evening that anyone considered getting in, but the hot tub was apparently much more refreshing. Here is Page with Allison, Daniel & Nathan.
Evan loved playing with his cousins- he really tried to keep up. Here he is with Allison...
and Daniel...
and Nathan. Aren't they adorable.
The kids loved playing Mariokart on the wii, and Evan thought he was really joining in the fun, even though he did not have a real control- that didn't stop him. :)
Tonya, Lisa & I went shopping and this was the scene when we got back. Page loaded everyone- even Hunter (the dog in the floor)- into the car so that they could go pick up the lemons that they rolled down the hill. Pretty fun!
Grandma caught Evan in a hug...
Evan loved running around in the yard.
We went bowling & wondered what we would do with Evan- problem solved when the Baby Einstein comes out!
Evan loved holding Allison's hand anytime we were riding in the car.
Page and I took a walk up the hiss from the ranch & stopped for a photo op- such a good view.
Here is Grandma Lisa with all of her grandkids. So much fun!
A family shot in Tonya & David's front yard.
